Whether you be seeking certificates, ratings, or proficiency, we can help.
You can expect:
Tailored, structured, and practical flight instruction. Lessons on your time, at your pace.
Competent instruction suitable to develop confidence in the challenging weather conditions of New England.
A focus on the ground instruction that so many instructors do not emphasize, at the cost of their student's long term success.
An emphasis on official, verified resources and documentation. Official sources are provided and emphasized in all teaching, creating a strong foundation for aspiring pilots to advance with.
An unwavering commitment to safety in all things. As a FAA Safety Team Representative, John often one of the first people the FAA seeks to perform pilot remedial training and host public safety seminars.

Two Ways to Pay
Fixed Instruction
For those who want ultimate flexibility and the best training outcomes, we offer a fixed cost instruction model for sport private, instrument, and commercial training. This cost is based on the average cost people spend on flight instruction, but what it offers is incredible flexibility and guilt free learning.
If you are someone who learns best by asking questions, having personalized 1-on-1 guidance, and want to go above and beyond the FAA minimum without your wallet hurting in the process, this is the route for you.
These fixed prices will enable unlimited flight and ground instruction for the entire duration of your rating. If you use 200 hours of instruction it costs the same as if you had used 10 hours. This highly benefits the motivated learner. Of course, it is also the motivated learner who is the most likely to complete their training successfully in a reasonable cost and timeline, so this only serves to help keep costs predicable and manageable.
The fixed costs are broken into 2 or 3 payments, due at the beginning of each “phase” of training. These payments are non-refundable. See below for details.
These costs are based on a student starting from zero, and we will offer a customized quote for students with previous flying experience.
All fixed instruction packages cover our onboarding fee of $750, which includes:
The refundable minimum balance reserve ($250, refundable)
Electronic copies of all needed documents, including the course syllabus and aircraft operating manual
ForeFlight Pro (until your checkride is complete)
Lifetime access to FlightInsight ground school
Lifetime access to the VSL ACE Guide (created by DPE Seth Lake)
Logbook to record flight time
White t-shirt for when you solo (student pilots only)
$175 credit if you score a 90% or better on your written test
Sheppard Air test prep (available for everything except the private pilot exam)
Jeppesen approach plates (for instrument students)

Hourly Instruction
This is the more traditional way of paying for instruction, where you simply pay by the hour. This is great for those who do not need a lot of guidance and are looking for something more “ala-carte”. Most students starting from scratch benefit more from the fixed instruction model, but those with a lot of knowledge or only having a few requirements to finish up often opt for just paying as they go. Of course, we can create a custom 'fixed’ instruction quote for students who prefer that instead.
Students must cover their onboarding fee of $750 ($900 for instrument students) to begin their training. This onboarding fee covers:
The minimum balance reserve ($250, refundable)
Electronic copies of all needed documents, including the course syllabus and aircraft operating manual
ForeFlight Pro (up to one year, as long as you are actively training.)
Lifetime access to FlightInsight ground school
Lifetime access to the VSL ACE Guide (created by DPE Seth Lake)
Logbook to record flight time
White t-shirt for when you solo (student pilots only)
$175 credit if you score a 95% or better on your written test
Sheppard Air test prep (available for everything except the private pilot exam)
Jeppesen approach plates (for instrument students)
